“And stay, my dear
forever, as my quiet song,
in my lilac dawn.”
― Sanober Khan, A Thousand Flamingos
This mobile is inspired by the poem by Sanober Khan.
Dimensions are roughly 43” high by 27” día. (110 x 38 cm). This is a rather tall mobile, so make sure you have enough ceiling-to-floor clearance.

This mobile is called “Calliope”. It’s larger than it appears because these shapes are very chunky. The mobile measures roughly 30” high by 24” dia. (75 x 60 cm) and is made of aluminum and steel.
To enhance its festive nature, I’ve painted the wires as well. This and its large size/light weight makes it more suitable for indoor use.

Update: this mobile has been sold.
This mobile is called “Coco”. Can you figure out why?
It’s a continuation of sorts from the “Of Course I Still Love You” mobile. It has a similar horizontal structure, and the elements have a similar shape. The color scheme couldn’t be more different though. This one features colors such as “juice” and “topaz” (I don’t make these things up).
The mobile is constructed with aluminum sheet for the shapes and galvanized steel for the wires. The shapes are painted with Montana Black spray paint. This mobile features riveted construction, which is aesthetically more pleasing than the Calder-esque “hook” connection. The dimensions are 27” dia. x 10” high. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.

After I sold the first “Baby Dragon,” my wife was sad. She (and I) thought it was really cute. She suggested I make another one, but this time in yellow.
“Why yellow?” I asked.
“Because it’s a happy mobile, and yellow is a happy color.”
Works for me!
This is a petite, delicate mobile. The shapes are 3D-printed using PLA filament, hand-sanded and painted and then connected using stainless steel wire. It’s fully articulated, meaning each element can rotate 360 degrees. This means there are infinite variations. It’s very responsive to indoor breezes (which is where it should live…it’s not an outdoor dragon).
Dimensions are roughly 15” high by 15” día. (38 x 38 cm)

From the very beginning of my mobile-creation, I’ve been interested in incorporating other materials in my designs besides metal. I’ve been experimenting with needle-felting, which is where you create interesting felted shapes by stabbing wool repeatedly. (I’m not sure what that says about my mental state.)
“Fuzzy Night” is a charming, almost childlike mobile. It uses natural wool colors (not dyed), and the shapes are connected with galvanized steel wire.
Dimensions are roughly 17” high by 15” día. (43 x 38 cm)
